About Magic Crystal Quest
Resonance: same-colour chains
Crystals come in four colours. Collecting two of the same colour in a row is worth one and a half times, three in a row doubles, and four or more triples.
That single rule makes the shortest route by distance very often not the best route by score. Working out when to walk past a near crystal in order to keep a colour chain alive is the entire skill of the game, and it is a genuinely different problem from every other collection game here.
The chain colour is shown as coloured dots in the corner, and a faint dashed line points at the nearest crystal of that colour. The decision is made visible rather than left as arithmetic.
Bloom: why ignoring a colour makes it valuable
Every crystal collected makes the next one of its colour slightly cheaper and every other colour slightly dearer, up to a cap of an extra hundred points.
So a colour you have been ignoring is quietly becoming worth three times a colour you have been farming. That stops a single-colour strategy from being correct for a whole run, and it means the optimal route changes as you walk it.
The four bloom meters are drawn in the top right. A crystal worth more than its base value is drawn larger and shows its number, so the information is on the crystal as well as in the meter.
Glades, and where the difficulty comes from
Clearing every crystal in a glade banks a bonus and lays a new one with more crystals and a tighter time budget. The clock is topped up on arrival, by less each time.
Crystals are laid out using the shared spawn patterns - clusters, rings, trails, zigzags, waves and staircases - rather than scattered, so a glade can be read as a set of routes at a glance.
Because nothing can kill you, the difficulty is entirely about how efficiently you move. That makes this the best game on the site for learning to read a layout, and the skill transfers directly to Treasure Hunt and Knight Quest.
How to play
- Press Space, Enter or tap to enter the first glade.
- Move with WASD, the arrows, or by dragging anywhere.
- Collect crystals. Two of the same colour in a row is worth 1.5x, three 2x, four or more 3x.
- Watch the bloom meters - colours you ignore become worth more.
- Clear every crystal in the glade to bank a bonus and move on.
- Nothing can hurt you. Only the clock can end the run.

| Where | What to do |
|---|---|
| Keyboard - move | WASD or the arrow keys |
| Touch - move | Drag anywhere; the wizard moves towards your finger |

Scoring
These are the point values this game awards, before the combo multiplier is applied where it uses one. Hit quality changes the figure: a strike at the centre of the correct moment is worth substantially more than one at the edge of it.
Tips
- The shortest route is rarely the best. Walking past a crystal to keep a chain alive usually pays.
- The dashed line points at the nearest crystal of your current chain colour. Use it.
- Colours you ignore gain value. Check the bloom meters before committing to a route.
- A crystal worth more than fifty is drawn larger with its value shown.
- Clear the glade rather than hunting the highest-value crystals - the clear bonus is large.
- A four-chain is worth three times a single crystal, so build to four before you break.
Common mistakes
- Collecting whatever is nearest, which averages about half the achievable score.
- Sticking to one colour for a whole glade while its bloom drains away.
- Breaking a three-chain for a crystal two steps closer.
- Ignoring the glade-clear bonus and grazing for high-value crystals instead.
- Forgetting there is no danger and moving cautiously.
Features
- No hazards at all - the clock is the only opponent.

- A bloom system that makes ignored colours steadily more valuable.
- Crystals laid out in the shared spawn patterns rather than scattered.
- A chain indicator and a pointer line to the nearest matching crystal.
- Personal best score, glade depth and best chain stored locally.
