The short version
Fantasy Arcade does not set any cookies. It does not run any analytics package. It does not ask you for your name, your email address or anything else, and it has nowhere to put that information if you gave it.
The site stores a small amount of data in your own browser's local storage so that it can remember your favourites, your recently played games and your best scores. That data never leaves your device.
There is no advertising code installed at the time of writing. If that changes, this page will change with it.
What is stored in your browser
The site uses the browser's localStorage API under the key prefix 'fa:'. The following items may be created as you use the site:
fa:favourites - the list of game IDs you have starred. fa:recent - the list of games you have started playing, most recent first. fa:plays - how many times you have started each game in this browser. fa:best:<game id> - your best score and related run statistics for that game. fa:prefs - your sound preference and similar settings.
That is the complete list. None of it identifies you, none of it is transmitted anywhere, and all of it is readable and deletable by you at any time through your browser's site-data controls or the button at the bottom of this page.
Local storage is not a cookie. It is not sent with requests, is not visible to the server, and is scoped to this site alone.
What is not collected
No account details, because there are no accounts. No email addresses, because the site never receives them - the contact form opens your own email client rather than transmitting anything.
No analytics, no page-view tracking, no session recording, no heatmaps and no fingerprinting. No third-party scripts of any kind are loaded by these pages.
No server-side logs are maintained by the site itself. Your hosting provider may keep standard web-server access logs, which is outside this site's control and is described in the section below.
Hosting and server logs
Static sites are served by a hosting provider, and hosting providers typically record standard request information - IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent - for operational and security purposes.
Fantasy Arcade does not control, access or analyse those logs, and they are not linked to anything the site stores in your browser. If you would like details of the current hosting arrangement, ask through the contact page.
The site is served over HTTPS.
Advertising
At the time of writing no advertising code is installed. The containers marked as advertising positions in the page markup are empty.
If advertising is connected in future, an advertising provider would be able to set its own cookies or use similar technologies from within its own frame, subject to its own policy and to your consent where the law requires it. This page and the cookie policy would be updated in the same change to describe exactly what was running.
We would rather this page be boring and accurate than comprehensive and speculative.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, because it collects no personal information at all.
The games contain no blood, gore or graphic injury - defeated creatures break apart into geometric shards - and there are no chat features, user accounts or ways for visitors to communicate with each other.
Your control over stored data
You can clear everything this site has stored at any time using the button below, your browser's 'clear site data' control, or by browsing in a private window, which discards local storage when it closes.
Clearing it removes your favourites, your recently played list, your best scores and your preferences. There is no backup and no way for us to restore them, because we never had a copy.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does changes, this page changes in the same update and the 'last updated' date at the top moves.
Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
This removes your favourites, recently played list, best scores and preferences from this browser. It cannot be undone.
